Lake Aloha Hike & Camp

This is some clips from our fantastic hike up to the desolation wilderness in Northern California near Lake Tahoe in August 2006. It is a high country lake called Lake Aloha. A bunch of us met up and took the ferry across lower and upper echo lakes to the trailhead. The hike was about 7mi one way, and some rocky grueling terrain, esp for the dogs. We camped by the lake for two nights, and collected snow still percisting from Winter to cool our drinks. Ike went on a solo trek across the icey lake with a small raft, filling the raft with snow onthe other side, and bringing the bounty back for group. Some of the most bleak yet beautiful landscapes, scores of islands, and pristine clear water.

I love camping, that place you went looks fantastic I wish we had something like that over here, we go to Wales in the summer and it does have lakes & mountains but on a much smaller scale and you are only really allowed on official camp sites which sucks a bit.
Great video thanks for sharing it.
